Zimo’s gear: Camo changes with temperature

Cabela’s Colorphase  camo clothing changes intensity with temperature changes. It can do that becasue ColorPhase camo clothing is printed with rapid-change, temperature-activated dye.

In mild temperatures, the patterns are highlighted with vivid greens that blend in with early season foliage (look at right front). As temperatures drop, the greens change to late-season brown (look at the jacket on the left back).

The changes occur at about 65 degrees but can be affected by body temperature, sunlight and moisture.

It is available in pants, shirts, jackets, bigs and gloves.

Cost: Jackets, about $80; pants, $50; hoodies, $70.
