Winter/spring tug of war continues

It’s an interesting time of year, and this weekend reflected it. Hikers and bikers flocked to the Foothills and Ridge to Rivers gave a green light for almost all the trails in the lower Foothills are snow-free and dry. But at the same time, racers on fatbikes finished the inaugural Snowy45 event on Sunday, March 17 in McCall on Jug Mountain Ranch’s Nordic ski trails. Judging by how the riders were dressed, it looked like winter.

I saw a photo of ice angler at Lake Cascade who pulled a couple ginormous perch from the lake over the weekend, and the Idaho Bassmasters held a tournament at Brownlee Reservoir on Saturday, March 16.

Bogus’ ski season is winding down. Day skiing continues, but its night skiing and tubing hill are both closed. Brundage picked up 3 inches of fresh snow and had 10-degree morning temperatures on Monday, March 18.

Welcome to topsy-turvy-ville. Enjoy the ride.
