Update: 02.14.13
The bar just reopened! Owner Dan Krecji’s attorney, Jennifer Mahoney, was able to work some magic and get 10th Street Station the necessary approvals.

Update: 02.14.13
The bar has been temporarily closed since Feb. 6 because of red tape involving liquor-license transfer to its new owner, Dan Krejci.
Krejci is “frustrated,” he says, but maintains hope he’ll be able to reopen the bar sometime next week.

Original post:
Downtown Boise institution 10th Street Station temporarily closed last week and posted a sign Feb. 11 blaming Alcohol Beverage Control — specifically, “the abitrary ‘workload’ of the one person … who is in charge of issuing liquor licenses for the entire state of Idaho.”
Huh? Didn’t ABC just get its staff beefed up from two to 10?
I’m not sure who owns the bar now, but I suspect longtime bartender Dan Krecji — of standout ’90s Boise band Dirt Fishermen — might have taken over the place. I’ve been trying to figure out how to contact him for information on when 10th Street Station will reopen, but no luck thus far.

In Oregon, licenses can’t be transferred, they have to be issued anew when ownership changes. Takes about three weeks I’m told, food server licenses only a week.
Problem is that my favorite bar, the karaoke bar closed and the owner had all sales prospects fall through…
SIGH. This positively sucks until I get the 12V Halogen and LED lighting up on the Schwinn to visit Payette.
Congratulations to Mr. Krecji on pulling a license out of a hat and not taking a 7 1/2…
