The butterfly is back — permanently, we hope.
On Monday, welders affixed the butterfly to the hand of the woman in the bronze “Taking Flight” sculpture, according to a spokeswoman for the Women’s and Children’s Alliance.
The butterfly was stolen for the third time on Monday last week. It was returned by Wednesday.
WCA officials opted for a different fix than previously (an extra bolt and strong epoxy). Chris Campbell, a spokeswoman for the nonprofit, said folks from Boise Rigging Supply and Covington Fabrication LLC welded the butterfly on Monday.
