Watch for hazards in Boise River

riverAlthough flows in the Boise River this week have been general rafting and canoeing flows, floaters should still look out for hazards.

A recent windstorm put some branches in the river and there are overhanging trees and stumps in the river just above Municipal Park.

I saw a small log sticking out of the third diversion, just above the Warm Springs Golf Course.

Other spots that usually collect logs are near the West ParkCenter Bridge and from the Broadway Bridge to Capitol Bridge.

And remember, the water is pretty cold this time of the year and you don’t want to take a swim. And, always wear a life jacket and proper clothing for a swim.
