Volunteers will finish assembling 1,500 Grow-a-Row seed packets Thursday

Grow a Row is a Let’s Move Boise program intended to help residents learn to garden and encourage them to distribute fresh fruits and vegetables to local food pantries. This is the second year of the collaborative program. Volunteers are spending the day assembling free seed packets at the Idaho Botanical Garden.

Participants in the program will receive a free packet with tools and resources, including planting and gardening tips,  a seed planting guide and a distribution list for local food pantries by neighborhood.

If you’d like to participate in the program, seed packets will be available after Thursday at:

  • ·         Boise Urban Garden School office, 731 N. 15th St.
  • ·         Idaho Botanical Garden, 2355 Old Penitentiary Road
  • ·         Healthwise, 2601 Bogus Basin Road
  • ·         Boise Parks & Recreation administration office, 1104 Royal Blvd.
