Melissa Rasmussen, Compass Charter: The Aviators remained unbeaten in conference play with two wins last week. Their senior point guard posted two double-doubles, scoring 27 points with 10 rebounds, nine steals and one assist in a 54-32 win over Victory Charter. Rasmussen added 31 points, 26 rebounds and 14 steals in a 64-35 victory against Greenleaf Friends Academy.


Jacob Johnson, Kuna: The Kavemen earned their first two 4A Southern Idaho Conference victories of the season last week. In a 49-29 win over Mountain Home, Johnson had 18 points, two rebounds, one assist and one blocked shot. The 6-foot-5 sophomore guard/post led the team in scoring again in a 41-39 victory against Columbia, scoring 19 points with three rebounds, one assist and one steal.


Pierce Mederios, Mountain Home: The Tigers took home the team championship at the Buhl Invitational over the weekend. Mederios led the charge by winning an individual title at 98 pounds. The undefeated freshman pinned his South Fremont opponent in 2 minutes, 58 seconds in the championship match. The Tigers won 15 consecutive matches on the first day of the tournament, helping secure their team lead despite bringing only 11 wrestlers.
