Gunnar Gustin, Emmett: The 6-foot-3 junior guard had two big games last week as the Huskies wrapped up the 4A Southern Idaho Conference regular season and then opened the 4A District Three Tournament. In two games, Gustin combined for 64 points — including 12 3-pointers — 15 steals and one dunk. Gustin had 34 points in a 72-66 loss to top-ranked Skyview and then posted 30 points in the Huskies’ first-round win over Nampa.


Raquelle Mouw, Bishop Kelly: The Knights won their first state championship in program history with three wins in last week’s tournament at Mountain View High. Mouw, a 5-foot-8 junior forward, finished with a combined 39 points, 18 rebounds and eight steals in victories over Moscow (51-26), Pocatello (51-24) and Century (50-40).


CJ Olsen, Centennial: The senior helped the Patriots win their fourth consecutive 5A District Three team championship in dominant fashion. Olsen’s victory over DeVaughn Sapien in the 113-pound title match was considered an upset. Olsen finished the district tournament with a pin in the first round, a tech fall in the quarterfinals, a major decision in the semifinals and a 12-9 decision in the championship.
