Vandals on ROOT; Bronco hoops vs. Hawaii; new Boise State football equipment trailer pics

A potpourri of Idaho sports notes today…
The Idaho Vandals’ football team will appear on ROOT Sports when it travels to Laramie to face Wyoming on Sept. 7 in their second game of the season, the network announced Wednesday. It is the only Vandal game thus far that has been announced to be televised.

The Boise State men’s basketball team will take on host Hawaii at the Diamond Head Classic on Dec. 22 at 11 p.m. MST in Honolulu. The game will be televised on ESPNU. The Broncos will take on either St. Mary’s or South Carolina on Dec. 23. If they win, they will play at 7 p.m. on ESPN2 that day, or if they lose, will play at 9:30 p.m. on ESPNU. The Broncos are guaranteed a third game on Dec. 25, also.
Other teams in the field include Iowa State, George Mason, Akron and Oregon State.

Former Boise State quarterback Jimmy Laughrea, whose intent to transfer was announced on May 7, has found his destination — UC Davis.
The FCS school is where Boise State coach Chris Petersen and College of Idaho coach Mike Moroski both played quarterback. Laughrea will have three years of eligibility to play three. The Aggies have a senior quarterback in Randy Wright, who threw for 2,410 yards last season with 13 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.

The Boise State football team unveiled its new equipment trailer on Wednesday. Kellen Moore is featured on one side with Doug Martin on the other. Tommy Smith in the still-cool black uniforms is on the back.
