Two Mountain West basketball teams in AP top 25; see Statesman’s vote

Indiana held onto the top spot again this week in the Associated Press top 25 men’s basketball poll. Two Mountain West teams, New Mexico (No. 16) and Colorado State (No. 22) are ranked.

Air Force senior guard Michael Lyons was named the Mountain West player of the week. He had 72 points in two games, including a career-high 45 against Colorado State on Saturday. His previous best was 37 points last month against Boise State. Lyons and the Falcons will play Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Taco Bell Arena.

Boise State, which has three of its next four games at home, is No. 42 in the NCAA’s latest RPI rankings, which is two spots up from last week. Check out the rankings here.
