Triple-digit heat back in Boise this week — but less humid than last wave

Boise is about to be hit with another heat wave, and this one may last longer than the last one, according to the National Weather Service.

The good news: It’s going to be drier. Humidity dipped down to 4 percent Sunday, and the forecast shows it will range from 9 to 12 percent during the day this week.

There’s a chance of thunderstorms on Tuesday, and that could bring gusty winds. Otherwise, winds will be light — less than 10 miles per hour.

Here’s what forecasters say is in store for us this week — note these temperatures are for the airport, and some parts of the city could be even hotter:

- Monday: 100
- Tuesday: 102
- Wednesday: 99
- Thursday: 100
- Friday: 103
- Saturday: 103
- Sunday: 102

The last heat wave was five days, starting on Friday, June 28. Temperatures ranged from 101 to 110.
