Too soon talk skiing? Schweitzer joins “Powder Alliance.”

This is a pretty cool deal if you love a skiing road trip. The ski industry really needs to be creative and come up with more opportunities like this so if a season pass holder’s home resort is having a tough year, there are other options. Here’s the press release:

Twelve resorts across the West have joined forces to create the Powder Alliance, offering free skiing benefits to pass holders from other participating Powder Alliance areas. Along with Schweitzer these twelve mountains include Crested Butte, Snowbasin Resort, Sierra-at-Tahoe, Stevens Pass, Timberline, China Peak, Mountain High, Arizona Snowbowl, Mt Hood Skibowl, Angel Fire Resort, and Bridger Bowl.

For the price of your local season pass, Powder Alliance resort members of any age receive three free days at all other participating areas plus special offers on lodging, rentals, buddy tickets, and more. Tickets are valid Sunday – Friday, non-holiday, and must be used during the 2013/14 season only. Guests are encouraged to visit or their official resort’s website for a complete list of holiday dates and resort benefits.

Says Scott Clarkson , VP of Sales & Marketing for Crested Butte, “The Powder Alliance magnifies the value of participating areas and gives winter enthusiasts the variety, flexibility, and affordability to chase magnificent powder at some of the most well-known mountains in the country. The Powder Alliance is the best value of any group pass product.”
