Tiny wildflowers blooming in Boise Foothills

flowerThey take you by surprise. You can walk right past them or over them without even knowing they are there.

This is the tiny wildflower season. The small, low-growing wildflowers seem to be the first to come up every spring in the Foothills. But, they are a sign that spring is arriving, despite Monday’s cold and wind and 24 degrees Tuesday morning in Boise.

If you’re hiking in the Foothills, take some time to look closely at the ground and in the middle of the fresh greenup or under some of the brush, you’ll see white and purple wildflowers blooming.
