The Fray, Slightly Stoopid are first Outlaw Field concerts announced at Idaho Botanical Garden

68_EdpGet out the suntan lotion. Summer is approaching quickly — or, summer concerts, at least.

Ford Idaho Center Amphitheater has already announced a Rascal Flatts concert. We all know Mayhem Festival is coming there. And now the Idaho Botanical Garden is getting into the act. The first two shows revealed for the annual Outlaw Field concert series go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, April 4, at TicketWeb. The Garden will run members-only pre-sales beginning Monday.

  • The Fray: 7 p.m. June 4, Idaho Botanical Garden, 2355 Old Penitentiary Road, Boise. $35. TicketWeb. Opening: Barcelona, Oh Honey.

  • Slightly Stoopid: 5:30 p.m. July 12, Idaho Botanical Garden, 2355 Old Penitentiary Road, Boise. $35. Opening: Stephen Marley. It definitely makes a lot more sense for this show to happen at the 4,000-capacity Outlaw Field than at the 10,000-plus capacity Ford Idaho Center Amphitheater, where Slightly Stoopid played last summer. Organizers set up the bowl in a cut-down configuration, but there’s no getting around the “where is everybody?” vibe at a venue that massive.
