Teen poetry slam

Think you’ve got what it takes to slam a poem? Come give it a try on May 18 at the Library! at Collister. The Teen Poetry Slam starts at 2:15 p.m., but you won’t want to miss the poetry workshop from 1:00-2:00 p.m.  Both events are open to young adults ages 12-18.

Slammers should come prepared with three short poems.  All poems must be clean, and you should be able to perform each poem in three minutes or less. Prizes will be awarded to the top two poets. Friends, family and the public at large are invited to the slam.

The workshop is an opportunity to polish your three poems and your performance before the slam.  While it’s not required, we encourage slammers to attend, especially those who have never slammed a poem before.

To register for the workshop and/or the slam, please call the Library! at Collister at 562-4995 by 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, or email Liz Clift at lclift@cityofboise.org.  Space is limited to 15.
