Surprises at MK Nature Center

You never know what you’re going to see when you are strolling through the MK Nature Center at 600 S. Walnut St. in Boise.

From salmon to geese and wood ducks to deer, there can be a surprise around every bend in the trail.

I got this photo of a fawn a few weeks ago. Moms and babies are hiding in the brush and if you’re quiet you might see them.

One thing though, don’t go near them. View them from a distance. I shot this photo with a 300mm lens.

Early mornings and late evenings, when the crowds are not around, are the best times to stroll through the center, which is located behind Idaho Fish and Game’s headquarters.
