One day before elections in Iran, protesters gathered Thursday outside Iranian embassies around the world.
Protesters called for Iran to release Boise Pastor Saeed Abedini, who was imprisoned in September.
He was convicted in January of “threatening the national security of Iran” because of his involvement in Christian home churches in the early 2000s. Abedini was in Iran last summer to visit family and build an orphanage.
Abedini’s family says the 33-year-old in poor health after suffering beatings and torture at Evin Prison.
