The concert business has changed — fewer acts draw crowds of several thousand fans.
Plus, it’s really not that much fun to sit half a mile away from the stage, anyway.
Bearing this in mind, the Idaho Center Amphitheater and promoter CTTouring are continuing a setup that started with last summer’s Lynyrd Skynyrd concert. For certain shows, the Amphitheater — which can hold 10,000 or more fans — is cut down to a more intimate size that holds 5,000. Reserved seating is closer. Everything just feels … cozier.
They call it the Idaho Center Outdoor Pavilion, and the Steve Miller Band is the first act to be announced this summer.
Tickets to the Thursday, Aug. 8, concert go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at ICTickets for $39.50 general admission lawn, $59.50 reserved seat.
