Special Olympics athletes return home from South Korea on Friday

Three Special Olympics Idaho athletes are returning home on Friday from the 2013 World Winter Games which were held in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

Special Olympic Idaho Athletes Brandon Staley, Boise, competed in snowboarding; Andrea Mousseau, Silver Valley, competed in alpine skiing; and Jerry Smith, Sun Valley, competed in Nordic skiing. They will be arriving at the Boise Airport at approximately 2  p.m. after traveling almost 5,000 miles.

During the 2013 World Winter Games, more than 2,400 athletes from more than 110 nations competed in seven Olympic-type sports: alpine skiing, cross country skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, short track speed skating, figure skating, floor hockey and the demonstration of floor ball.
