Boise National Forest spokesman Dave Olson said Tuesday, Nov. 5 that South Fork will reopen from Anderson Ranch Dam downstream to Arrowrock Reservoir. The area has been closed since last summer’s fires and mud slides made it potentially hazardous.
Portions of other closed areas affected by the Pony and Elk fires around the South Fork and Anderson Ranch Reservoir will also reopen, possibly as early as Wednesday or Thursday, including the Danskin OHV area. However, Olson said they will likely only reopen for foot traffic. Many of these areas are popular with big game hunters, and late season hunts are still open.
