Seeing more snakes in Boise Foothills

Readers are reporting seeing a lot more rattlesnakes and bull snakes than in previous years in the Boise Foothills.

You’ll find them on trails in the morning still looking for mice. Look out for them sunning themselves on rocks and logs. Keep your dog close in. Watch stepping over rocks and logs. If you leave them alone, they’ll leave you alone.

Don’t know why there seems to be more of them. Maybe it’s the influx of prey like mice, cottontails and other critters.
