Safety Saturday set on Main Payette

The Idaho Whitewater Association’s annual Safety Saturday is June 29 on the Main Payette River, north of Horseshoe Bend.

The event is open to the public.

Stations will be set up from Banks to the Beehive bend take out and will include boat flipping, throw-bag practice and first aid.

Life jackets are required for water activities.

Participants should put in at Banks between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., stop at all stations along the river and qualify for river and safety gear that will be raffled off at the takeout in the afternoon.

Idaho Whitewater Association will also be providing a barbeque at the takeout for all participants.

The organization also needs volunteers.
