After a $100- or $250-per-plate (depending on your level commitment) fundraising luncheon Thursday, former Republic presidential nominee Mitt Romney told members of the local news media that Idaho Republican incumbents Gov. Butch Otter, Sen. Jim Risch and Rep. Mike Simpson are behind Idaho’s ongoing recovery from the Great Recession.
The rest of the country would do well to copy them, Romney said.
“Idaho is really an example to the other states about how conservative principles can be put in action,” Romney said.
Romney’s appearance in Boise on Thursday followed an Idaho Falls appearance on Wednesday. He took only two questions from the media before staffers ended the event, saying he was on a tight schedule.
