River groups present petition against new dams on Boise, Weiser

Members of Idaho Rivers United, led by staffer Liz Paul, and other groups like the Idaho Wildlife Federation, met with Idaho Gov. Butch Otter’s natural resources aide Stephen Goodson to present a petition with 675 signatures of people opposed to new water storage dams on the Boise and Weiser Rivers Thursday, February 13.

 

Rocky Barker is the energy and environment reporter for the Idaho Statesman and has been writing about the West since 1985. He is the author of Scorched Earth How the Fires of Yellowstone Changed America and co-producer of the movie Firestorm: Last Stand at Yellowstone, which was inspired by the book and broadcast on A&E Network.
