Sen. Jim Rice and Rep. Brandon Hixon of Caldwell’s District 10 on Tuesday announced their endorsement of Brian Bishop for the Republican nomination in District 10 House Seat B in the May 20 primary election.
“We are convinced that Brian Bishop is the right choice to represent District 10B and are asking the voters of District 10B to write in Brian Bishop on their ballots. He has strong conservative principles and is very focused on working to serve the people of District 10. Mr. Bishop has the background and experience to make a difference in the legislature and be a strong advocate for limited government, reduced regulation and improved education in the state,” said Rice in a press release.
“With the addition of Brian Bishop, Legislative District 10 will continue its legacy of conservative, level-headed lawmakers that truly represent Idaho values. Mr. Bishop brings valuable experience that will give Canyon County families excellent representation at the State level. He is the clear choice in this race,” said Hixon.
The only person to file for the race, Greg Chaney, says he no longer seeks the nomination and he has suspended his campaign — even though his is the only name that will appear on the Republican ballot May 20.
Bishop faces Kent Marmon, another write-in candidate for the Republican nomination, District 10 House Seat B.
