Rapper Tyler, The Creator is headed to Boise

Considering that Tyler, The Creator sold out the Knitting Factory in advance the last time he played Boise, it seems natural that he’d move up to a larger venue upon returning.

So Tyler — real name Tyler Gregory Okonma — will hit Garden City’s 2,200-capacity Revolution Center on Thursday, May 22. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday at Ticketfly for $25 general admission, $55 VIP.

Still just 22 years old, Tyler broke out in 2011 with his second album, “Goblin.” Lyrically, he operates on a different creative level than most of his competition — though you have to sift his rhymes through a ridiculously intense profanity filter.

My favorite Tyler song is “Yonkers,” which I’ll play on my radio show Sunday night. The amount of edits in the song will be somewhere in the neighborhood of a gazillion.

Warning: profanity
