Play ball with the Idaho GOP: ‘A Night with the Hawks’

Gov. Butch Otter will headline the Idaho Republican Party’s Aug. 29 fundraiser at the Boise Hawks game at Memorial Stadium in Garden City.

Sponsorship levels begin at $100 for two dinner and two game tickets and rise to the $1,000  “Grand Slam,” which includes 10 tickets to a VIP “Batting Practice” reception with Lt. Gov. Brad Little, 10 dinners and 10 game tickets. Individual tickets are $35.

The Hawks play the Salem-Keizer Volcanos at 6:45 p.m.

We are pleased to invite you and your family to join with Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter and the Idaho Republican Party in America’s favorite pastime at “A Night with the Hawks” on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Hawks Memorial Stadium in Boise.

Join Lt. Governor Brad Little at the VIP “Batting Practice” Reception and get into the stadium before the gates open to general seating at 5:15pm. While watching the teams warm up, there will be free drinks and tours of the stadium. The event is open to Grand Slam and Homerun sponsors and Ivory 500 Club members (monthly donors of $42 a month).

The “Hawks Nest” will be serving free dinner and drinks from 5:45pm until game time at 6:45pm. The “Nest,” located along the 3rd base line, hosts some of the best seats in the house! Reserved seats are also included with ticket purchase. Proceeds of this event will be used to help elect Republicans in Idaho.

Idaho Republican Party

Dan Popkey came to Idaho in 1984 to work as a police reporter. Since 1987, he has covered politics and has reported on 25 sessions of the Legislature. Dan has a bachelor's in political science from Santa Clara University and a master's in journalism from Columbia University. He was a Congressional Fellow of the American Political Science Association and a Journalism Fellow at the University of Michigan. A former page in the U.S. House of Representatives, he graduated Capitol Page High School in 1976. In 2007, he led the Statesman’s coverage of the Sen. Larry Craig sex scandal, which was one of three Pulitzer Prize finalists in breaking news. In 2003, he won the Ted M. Natt First Amendment award from the Pacific Northwest Newspaper Association for coverage of University Place, the University of Idaho’s troubled real estate development in Boise. Dan helped start the community reading project "Big Read." He has two children in college and lives on the Boise Bench with an old gray cat.
