No exploding targets on BLM lands

If you’re heading out to do some target practice on U.S. Bureau of Land Management lands in Idaho, make sure you’re using safe targets.

The federal agency issued its 2013 Fire Prevention Order which bans exploding targets, incendiary or tracer ammunition, fireworks and other burning materials from May 10 to Oct. 20.

You could be fined $1,000 or get 12 months in jail or both for violating the order. You can also be made to pay for fire suppression and damage.

There are safe targets like the ones pictured above.
