The Idaho Hispanic Caucus Institute for Research and Education, Mujeres Unidas de Idaho and the Hispanic Cultural Center of Idaho have joined together to present a Nampa mayoral and city council candidate forum at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at the Hispanic Cultural Center of Idaho, 315 Stampede Drive.
According to U.S. Census data Latinos comprise 22.9 percent of Nampa’s population. Unique to this forum, a mini-survey of Latino Nampa residents was conducted to identify key issues facing the city, including infrastructure, commerce and public works. Additionally, interpretation services for Spanish-speaking residents will be available at the forum.
All 13 Nampa mayoral and city council candidates on the November ballot have been invited to the forum.
Mayor: Tom Dale (incumbent), Bob Henry, Robert Muse and Melissa Sue Robinson.
City Council Seat 1: Paul Raymond and Victor Rodriguez.
City Council Seat 3: KLynn Miller and Pam White (incumbent).
City Council Seat 5: Randy Haverfield and Lance McGrath.
City Council Seat 6: Jeff Kirkman, Bruce Skaug and Darryl Speiser.
