Nampa Elks will retire U.S. flags at Flag Day ceremony Friday

The public is invited to a flag retirement ceremony at Lakeview Park at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 14. The ceremony will be in the Maple Grove section of the park, near the horseshoe pits and Army tank.

The ceremony with be conducted by the Elk’s Past Presidents Association and will be assisted by Mayor Tom Dale.

Nampa Elks has collected more than 600 worn and tattered flags for proper disposal by placing a flag drop box at the US Bank near the Elks lodge.

The public will be invited to participate by disposing of one of flags in dedication and memory of a family member or friend who has passed away.

A barbeque will follow the ceremony. Hotdogs and hamburgers with all the trimmings will be available for a small donation.
