Caldwell and Nampa residents have a free transportation alternative this summer to get to various locations in both cities, including to and from the Caldwell YMCA.
GoRide Community Link, a mobility project managed by Valley Regional Transit, provides two bus routes. One route primarily serves the Nampa area, while a second route makes numerous stops in Caldwell. Both routes connect directly to several ValleyRide bus routes.
“This is a great addition to the public transportation services in the area,” said Valley Regional Transit Executive Director Kelli Fairless.
The routes, called GoRide Community Link Nampa and GoRide Community Link Caldwell, operate Monday through Friday. Each bus makes three trips a day — early morning, noon, and late afternoon. There are no age restrictions to ride the bus.
The service is the result of a partnership between Valley Regional Transit, Brown Bus Company in Nampa, Caldwell Transportation Company, and the YMCA. Yellow school buses from Brown and Caldwell Transportation are being used to provide the service. Both Brown Bus and Caldwell Transportation also provide after-school bus service to the YMCA during the school year.
