Genesis Milam has been endorsed by Meridian Mayor Tammy de Weerd and all four current council members (Charlie Rountree, David Zaremba, Brad Hoaglun and Keith Bird), according to a release from her campaign.
Milam, a 40-year-old businesswoman, is running for one of two new seats on the council, Seat 5. She is the only woman among 17 candidates. Read more about her here in our Voters Guide.
“Genesis has a heart for the Meridian community and would serve the city well. She is an excellent leader with passion and energy,” Jody Gempler, Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County’s Director of Development, said in the campaign press release. “I see it in her volunteer work with the Boys & Girls Clubs.”
Other endorsements Milam has include: International Women Business Owners, the Meridian Business Day Executive Committee, community leaders Eva Gay Yost, Brandon and Monique Wright, Corey and Jennifer Smith, Claudia Weathermon Tester, Meegan and Jeff Yarnall and Joan Endicott.
