Meridian man reels in $300,000 from Idaho Lottery scratch-off game

A Meridian man bought a “$300,000 Spectacular” scratch-off game Sunday while on his way to a favorite fishing spot along the Boise River in Eagle.

He never made it to the river. ED COOK 2

Ed Cook won $300,000 — the Idaho Lottery’s largest-ever scratch-off game prize (and there’s another $300,000 prize ticket out there still). Cook plans to use the cash to pay bills and fund some future fishing trips.

Cook bought the game at the Fred Meyer on Chinden Boulevard in Meridian. Fred Meyer will receive $20,000 for selling the winning game.
