Meridian high school class raises $250 for community animal shelter

Students in Linda Diana’s class at Meridian High School made, advertised and sold dog biscuits to raise money for the Meridian Valley Humane Society, which opened at a new location in November. The students delivered a $250 check to shelter board member Debbie Decker.

The shelter has adopted out 25 dogs since it re-opened (Read all about that here.) The community has embraced the group in myriad ways, said board member Nancy Harvey.

“We have had so many heart-warming stories of children, who instead of receiving presents for their birthdays, have asked their friends to bring presents or monetary donations for the dogs at our rescue,” Harvey said in a release Sunday.
