Franklin Road between Ten Mile and Linder roads will close at 4 a.m. Saturday, March 2 for road-widening work. The stretch will reopen before Monday’s morning commute. Businesses and homes within the closure will remain accessible.
During the weekend closure, crews will install three irrigation crossings, which must be completed before the irrigation canals fill for the season.
Motorists will be detoured to Pine Avenue; however eastbound motorists using Pine Avenue beyond Linder Road are reminded that construction at the nearby intersections of Meridian and Cherry and Main and Fairview is underway as part of the Meridian split corridor project. Pine between Linder and Main Street is being used as an alternate route and delays are likely.
The Ada County Highway District is widening Franklin between Ten Mile and Linder to five lanes with two lanes in each direction and a center turn lane. The project also includes sidewalk and bike lanes.
The $3.5 million project is planned for completion in September.
