The Fall Festival at Settlers Park on Sunday, Oct. 6, features local crafts, food and entertainment.
The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Settlers Park in Meridian at the corner of Ustick and Meridian roads.
Ten percent of the food vendors’ proceeds from the event will go to help Brylee Gabby, 7, of Nampa, who was being treated for leukemia at the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital at Oregon Health Sciences University.
At noon Sunday, Gabby’s family, friends and supporters will gather for a group photo. The public is also encouraged to add to a scrapbook for Gabby.
Gabby has been in the hospital since Aug. 16. While on family vacation at the Oregon coast, she fell ill and her parents rushed her to the hospital. Doctors determined she has a tumor in her lower back causing her vertebrae to compress her spinal cord. Doctors also diagnosed her with acute myeloid leukemia. Family members have remained at her side continuously and donations will help offset the financial hardships facing the family. Gabby recently returned home to the Boise area and has begun treatment at St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital.
