The vote today was 19-16 against Joan Hurlock, a fitness center owner from Buhl, who was appointed by Gov. Butch Otter to the Idaho Fish and Game Commission in June. Hurlock’s appointment needed to be confirmed by the Senate. Last week, the Senate Resources and Environment Committee voted against Hurlock, but her confirmation still went to the full Senate for a vote.
Otter continued his support for Hurlock after the committee voted against her confirmation last week.
The Fish and Game commission is a seven-person board that sets fish and game rules and much of the wildlife policy for the state. Hurlock would have been the second female commissioner ever appointed.

Now the governor can again appoint who he chooses. The lies spread about this woman should be grounds for a lawsuit.
Roger, kinda short on information here. What’s the full story? The photo of her implies she is a falconer. If so, she likely knows more about wildlife than any of Committee members and all the other senators. And the terms of her being a fitness center owner is likely a misrepresentation. How about a good in-depth story of all the current commissioners?

thanks.
