There’s some pretty interesting information about the effects the whitewater park had on Valley County and Cascade’s economy, and it’s explained in fairly clear terms in this report from University of Idaho. Bottom line, the whitewater park has been a boon for the community, bringing $436,000 in economic impact directly to Cascade, which is the bulk of the $600,000 it brought to Valley County.
The report also shows a whitewater park is much more than a place for kayakers to play. It’s an “amenity to make the region more attractive to residents and visitors alike,” the report said. The park even contributed to a bump in Cascade’s real estate prices compared with Donnelly and McCall.
