Interfaith Sanctuary in Boise in search of Christmas donations for residents

Gift Giving for Women & Men Shelter Guests!

Each year, Interfaith Sanctuary tries to create a special Christmas for all of our shelter guests. As you might imagine, this time of the year can be especially challenging for those without a home.

We are reaching out to the community for donations of Christmas gifts for our families and single adults. Last week word went out on our Adopt-a-Family program and I’m happy to say that many people offered to become sponsors for our families and as of yesterday morning, all families had been matched*!

Staff and Interns at the shelter have just inventoried the items donated for Christmas Giving for single adults, and we are very short. Please consider picking up even a few of these items when you’re out shopping this week. If you belong to a house of worship, a civic club, or work in an office…please consider passing this info on for a holiday giving project and/or sharing on your FB page.

All items need to be new for Christmas gift giving and can be received at the shelter through Monday, December 23. Donations can be delivered to the shelter any evening between 6:30 and 8:30 pm (see below for directions). These items will be organized and then distributed on Christmas night to shelter guests.

Note: If you’re planning to attend the Homeless Memorial Day Vigil this Friday, Dec. 20th (7 pm at Sanctuary), that would be a great time to bring donations.

* Adopt-a-Family: As we may have new families coming in between now and Christmas, if you’d like to be on a ‘stand-by’ list to sponsor a family, please email info (at) with ‘Adopt-a-Family’ in the subject line.
