Injured Kuna football player moves arms

Junior Boone Bartlome was able to use his arm and shoulder to move a towel across a table during physical therapy on Thursday, Kuna High football coach Lee Leslie said.

Bartlome, who broke his neck during a state quarterfinal game last Friday, was moved out of the intensive care unit at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, Leslie said.

Leslie and Boise State football coach Chris Petersen were visiting Bartlome on Thursday afternoon, and both witnessed Bartlome move the towel.

“Coach Pete and I just stood there not making a noise,” Leslie said. “We were like, ‘OK, atta kid Boone!”
