Idaho Gives raises $782,862 for Idaho nonprofits

In 2013, Idahoans donated just more than half a million dollars in the statewide fundraiser’s first year.

On Thursday, the second year of the drive, Idahoans far exceeded that total by giving $782,862.

More than 7,500 unique donors gave to hundreds of organizations representing a wide variety of causes, from animals, to the environment, literacy, social services and more.

When all the dust had settled, the Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers of the Magic Valley brought in the most money in the small nonprofit category with $8,986.

In the medium-sized nonprofit group, Boise Bicycle Project came out on top with $13,660.

The Idaho Humane Society brought in the most dollars in the large nonprofit category with $23,815.
