The Idaho Botanical Garden is saying farewell to executive director, Julia Rundberg. The garden and its staffers invite the public to say good-bye to Rundberg and thank her for her service during National Public Gardens Day on May 9. Garden entrance is free on that day.
Rundberg, who is the new manager for the City Club of Boise, led garden operations for eight years. Her achievements include doubling the IBG’s operation budget and completing a comprehensive strategic plan. Those changes have led to new events and garden displays for the community including the Children’s Adventure Garden and the popular Outlaw Field Summer Concert Series. Guest admission has grown from 60,000 to more than 140,000 annually.
The Idaho Botanical Garden is conducting a national search to hire a new executive director.
The Idaho Botanical Garden is celebrating its 30th year anniversary. It’s located in the Old Penitentiary Historic District at 2355 Old Penitentiary Rd., in Boise.
