Idaho agrees to five-year deal with Nike

By Brian Murphy

The University of Idaho will ask the State Board of Education this week for approval of a five-year contract with apparel giant Nike.

The contract calls for Idaho to receive $140,000 worth of product and equipment each year.

The Vandals must purchase all products for its covered athletic programs through Nike.

Idaho purchases approximately $400,000 of athletic team apparel each year. Under terms of the contract, Idaho can purchase Nike product at wholesale prices.

By contrast, Boise State receives $1 million worth of product this year as part of a six-year contract signed in 2012. For more on Boise State’s deal, click here.
