Have an inner Celt crying to get out? Come to the Treasure Valley Celtic Fest

The Treasure Valley Celtic Festival and Highland Games is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 21 at Expo Idaho.

Your admission price, $12 for adults, $7 for kids (ages 5-15) and seniors (60 and up), will get you a day of music, a piping and athletic competitions, field events, Scottish and Irish dancing demos, a tea tent with bakery items, clan tents and a “Bonnie Knees Competition.”

The Scottish American Society of the Treasure Valley, a non-profit community-oriented group, is hosting. The group is dedicated to promoting an awareness of pride in and celebration of Scottish and other Celtic heritages. Typical events include concerts, Ceilidhs (“kay-lees”), traditional gatherings with live bands, singing and dancing for people of all ages and abilities as well as the annual games.

Membership is open to everyone, regardless of heritage. 

The group hosts a Ceilidh the night before the fest, 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., Friday, Sept. 20 at the Boise Depot, 2603 W. Eastover Terrace in Boise. 

Tickets $10 per person available at online (idahoscots.org) and at the door. Children 5 and under are free
