Work has begun to replace the surface of one mile of pathway between Veterans Memorial Parkway and Willow Lane on the north bank of the Boise River in Northwest Boise.
The section of path was closed Wednesday and is scheduled to stay closed into early October.
Diamond Contractors of Emmett is in charge of the $300,000 project, which includes removal of the existing asphalt to replace it with a more durable concrete surface, according to a Boise Parks and Recreation news release. Crews are allowing people to walk around the work area, but biking through it isn’t feasible, Boise Parks and Recreation spokeswoman Amy Stahl said.
Here is a map of the closure.
