Get ready for powder in the high country

sagebrushPlanning a snow weekend? The Idaho Outdoors staff pinpointed National Weather Service forecasts for specific mountain recreation locations.

The weather agency is predicting lots of snow today through the weekend for skiing and snowmobiling areas north and northeast of Boise. Winter weather advisories are in effect so be careful in the backcountry and driving to your snow play area.

Here’s the forecast range in depths of new snow: Brundage Mountain, 9 to 27 inches. Tamarack,  8 to 17 inches. Bogus Basin, 10 to 21 inches. Pilot Peak near Idaho City, 9 to 19 inches. Sun Valley/Galena area, 4 to 11  inches. Stanley, 11 to 21 inches new.
