Mountainsmith’s Mystic 65 weighs 5 pounds 2 ounces and is the largest pack in Mountainsmith’s Mountainlight series.
That caught my attention because I am not a light backpacker. No matter how hard I try, my pack always feels like I’m carrying half the rocks on the mountain. Maybe it’s the four cans of Guinness.
Anyway, the Mystic 65 will handle up to 55 pounds and has a volume of 65 liters. It has an extended volume up to 70 liters.
It’s built with a separate sleeping bag compartment, front panel pocket/pass through window, side stash pockets and tool mounts to keep your gear organized and accessible. I love compartments and stuff.
The packs hip belt and compression system pulls the load into the lumbar region, according to the company. The pack also has what the company calls a Breezeway suspension back panel to circulate air and keep the hiker cool.
