Gear: Don’t slip on the ice

Single BootLast year I learned a valuable lesson about ice. My driveway turned out to be a bobsled run one morning while I was going to get the paper. It’s no fun sliding uncontrollably down the driveway in slippery boots with the fear of rocketing out into the street and breaking your leg or hip.

I got a pair of traction devices for my shoes and they make walking on ice like sticking to fly paper.

The ICEtrekkers Diamond Grip have dozens of case-hardened, alloy steel grippers that attach to the shoe with a rubber sling.

They are very easy to put on and feel comfortable while walking. You can also use them for icy trails or while ice fishing.

Cost: $41.95; for information go HERE
