Garden City’s ‘Taste’ raises more than $11,000 for library

A Sunday event that featured local artists, breweries, wineries and live music raised $11,250, after expenses, for the Garden City Library.

About 219 people participated in An Artistic Taste of Garden City, a 50 percent increase over last year, said Garden City Councilwoman Pam Beaumont.

The money will be used for the Bells for Books mobile literacy and children’s programs, including summer reading, art classes for children, Tess Chess Tournament, baby sign language and teen robotics.

A Taste

Local winemakers offered tastings at An Artistic Taste of Garden City.
