Fulcher seeks volunteers for ‘Super Saturday’ phone banks

Idaho Senate Majority Caucus Chairman Russ Fulcher’s campaign says “Super Saturday” is the “official start of the grassroots effort” for Fulcher’s push to upset two-term GOP Gov. Butch Otter in the May 20 Republican primary.

Volunteers are asked to bring their cell phones and gather in Nampa, Coeur d’Alene and Idaho Falls from noon to 6 p.m. If that’s not convenient the Fulcher campaign will provide call lists for supporters who’d rather make calls from home.

In an email to supporters, the five-term Meridian lawmaker acknowledges the difficulty of unseating Otter, who has held high office without interruption since 1987, as lieutenant governor, 1st District congressman and governor.

“Going up against an incumbent with virtually unlimited resources will be a challenge, but we’ve got the candidate with the right message and the right vision for Idaho,” says the email. “It’s our job to share that message with fellow voters.”

The Fulcher pitch follows:

Friends,

It’s an exciting time for the Russ Fulcher for Idaho campaign. Over the last few months, Russ has been traveling all around the state building the momentum necessary to win this election with a grassroots campaign. He’s been signing up volunteers, donors, and friends, and we’ve all been preparing for this big effort fueled by the grassroots.

This weekend is Super Saturday and the official start of the grassroots effort for Russ Fulcher’s campaign for governor! We are kicking things off with phone banks for Fulcher across the state. Through these phone banks, we’re able to directly reach voters and increase Fulcher support most effectively.

Going up against an incumbent with virtually unlimited resources will be a challenge, but we’ve got the candidate with the right message and the right vision for Idaho. It’s our job to share that message with fellow voters.

Please bring your cell phone and join us for Super Saturday, January 18th. Phone bank hours will be held from 12:00pm to 6:00pm. We are asking that you give Senator Fulcher two or three hours of your day to ensure that his message of true conservative principles is delivered to Idahoans throughout the state.
